What are the differences between body lotions and body creams?

Body lotion can be poured on the hands. This thin lotion is for everyday use to help moisturize and condition the to keep it looking healthy and radiant. Body cream is thicker than lotion, and was deliberately created for those rough patches, like elbow, knees, and heels. A Body Lotion is simply a lotion for the body, a body cream is like a thicker richer version of lotion. Many times they contain different ingredients which explains the difference in textures and results that it gives you. Body cream for the most part is more moisturizing to the skin. However, some people do not like the texture and prefer to use lotion because of its thinner texture. Body creams are thicker than lotions. Both are used on your body but lotions can be used daily on any part of your body. Creams are good to use after you take a bath. They usually have more moisturizer in them and is soaked into your skin easiest when you skin has been softened by water. If you don't use cream right it tends to feel greasy.

i don't think there is a difference.
lotions have aqueous[WATER] base while creams are generally oil based. so lotions are easey to spread and easey to remove while to apply cream you have to rub it well in to the skin and they need soap to remove.
lotions has a lighter consistence than cream.
