What's the difference between a body cream and a body lotion?

Does one work better than the other, and why?What's the difference between a body cream and a body lotion?
A body cream is thicker... They both work the same really, unless you have really dry skin, then the cream is better really. I personally don't like the cream though because it is so thick and almost feels like you should be slathering it on with a spatula, lol....What's the difference between a body cream and a body lotion?
